snore

I think I'm actually going to get to stay home for a couple of weeks this time. It's a drizzly chilly day, and I'm exhausted and all I want to do is sleep. I made a nice cream soup for lunch and had some jello salad Mother sent; how's that for comfort food? And I have a carrot cake cooling so I can put cream cheese icing on it.

I got my financial aid application in Friday before I left. I had already called and asked if I should wait for acceptance before submitting it and they said absolutely not! There is a limited pool of money and I should submit ASAP. So I did. When I handed it to the girl at the desk, she typed something in to her computer, and asked if I had been admitted. Nope, not yet, but I was told to go on and submit... There was also another form required for acceptance; it wasn't listed online and the LIS office had mailed it to me. ("We are pleased to inform you that you need to submit this form..." WTF? Why wasn't this listed anywhere as something I needed to do?) I dropped it off at the LIS office. A couple of hours later I got a phone call from the Financial Aid office, asking (again) if I had been admitted as a student. I hope the level of competence of the bureaucracy is not an indication of the level of competency of the school itself.

I slept for about two hours this afternoon and am still tired. I'm hoping that another good night of sleep will restore me to my usual chipper self. Heh.
