bzzzz bzzzzz
Nov. 29th, 2006 08:55 pmI've been such a good little worker bee. I'm doing this stupid paper on health resources. I say stupid because she specifically told us to concentrate on one way to get information (online databases of serials articles) and they don't have articles written for the consumer, who is the client group I'm supposed to be finding information for. They are all written for health professionals, full of technical and medical terms. We are supposed to cover four different areas, some of which will be much more applicable, but just the fact that she told us so specifically to do this is ridiculous. I've spent 5 or 6 hours just doing research so I can write about what I did, and of the thousands and thousands of hits, only two are usable-- and they are websites. Get a grip, lady.
The funny thing is that my obsessive qualities have kicked in and I'm worrying at this like Ru Paul with a recalcitrant tube of mascara. What I'm trying to do is get the number of articles returned in each search reduced as specifically as possible to the exact topic I want, with a reasonable number of hits so I can actually scan the titles and see what I got. Even I am not about to spend hours looking at 2,000 hits on "cholesterol and management and lifestyle."
Not much else happening today. Back to the salt mines.
