book repair workshop
Jan. 12th, 2007 07:33 pmEh, it was okay. We only got to do one thing hands on, and it's what I've been doing at my practicum, except not as well done. Heh, I'm spoiled already! We did get demonstrations of repairing page tears, tightening hinges and a couple of other things which will actually be possible to do at home-- yay! The spine repair is not really economically feasible to do at home, sadly, because so many of the materials are hard to get/expensive/come in large quantities. I should qualify that-- I haven't done any extensive investigation, but that's my bet. I did bring home some samples/leftovers, so I think I'll be able to do a few little things. It was pretty good, I guess. (Damned with faint praise would be the description here!)
