I had no idea that the song "California Girls" required such a vocal range until Tuneless Boy started trying to sing it. Nor did I realize that it was so complicated and difficult to play on a keyboard. Wow.

A couple of years back, All Things Considered did a year-long series on music; each week they'd select one song and do an in-dpeth analysis of it. One week they did "Good Vibrations." I'd always liked it okay but never gave it any particular thought. They got me hooked, however, and now it's a favorite. I always thought the Beach Boys music was just fluffy, but I'm gaining an appreciation. It's sophisticated fluff, I guess.

Tonight seems to be Tuneless Boy's night for branching out and trying new songs. If I felt good and weren't working on a deadline I'm sure I'd be as tolerant and amused as I usually am, but not tonight. I have a headache. (Heh.) Anyway, it is completely impossible to concentrate. Sigh.

Drugs. Bed. In that order.
