Man, this has been one sucky day. I've had a migraine for two or three days now. My scrip for Imitrex was about out so I sent in for a refill online. When I went to pick it up, there was only 1 pack (9 pills) in the bag. "Nope," I said. "Supposed to be 18 pills." I figured the insurance company had screwed up again. But no, this time the doctor had written the scrip for 9 pills instead of 18. The pharmacist said she'd call and get it straightened out, but when I went to pick it up the next day, it hadn't happened. "They'll already be gone from the doctor's office... I'll call tomorrow. Call before you come in," she said. So I did. She was on break but the other pharmacist swore she could help me. She lied. After I went through the whole store AGAIN, all she could tell me was that my doctor would have to call.
When I called the doc's office, I got the whole menu of "If you are a doctor or a hospital...." thing but finally got a real live person. Believe me, I sounded plenty pitiful. "I have a migraine, and I only have one pill left, and I really need the scrip for 18 pills." It worked, because the drugstore actually just called me and said they are filling the scrip right now and it should be ready by the time I get there if I leave.... now.
Oh, yeah, and the other delightful thing that I did today was buy health insurance. Mine's going to end when my disability runs out, and what with all the different scrips I need, and seeing various doctors at random, I can't do without insurance. It's going to cost me $350 a month, though. That is nearly all of what I make at the page's job at the library. Sad, huh?
Whew. See ya later.
