chow hounds

If the cats could read they might be insulted by my calling them "chow hounds." However, I stand by my assessment. I am starting to wonder if hot weather affects their appetite.... in a positive direction, rather than negative. I mentioned a few days ago that I've reduced their daily ration of kibble by a whopping 1/4 cup-- that's total, divided between three cats. I give them slightly less than a cup in the morning and a cup at night, whereas originally I gave them a full cup each serving, and there used to be some left in the bowl between times. Now, however, they fuss at me every time I stand up from the computer or wherever I'm working, and lead me to a suddenly empty bowl. WTF? Is there a rogue squirrel sneaking in and eating it all, like in the old cereal commercials? Because I sure don't see a "visible waistline" like the cat food bag says I should; at least it isn't there on two of my babies. Miranda is so active she has stayed fit-looking all along, but Carmen and Molly are a different story.

Unlike most summers, I haven't lost my appetite, either. Sigh. Call us all chow hounds, I guess. Maybe it's stress over classes or something, at least for me. Suppose the cats are stressed over my stressing?

I spent most of the day on a presentation for my Wed class. That's all well and good, except I still have another presentation to do, plus my reading notes for both classes, AND a couple of pages on my "management style." Yeah, right. My management style is NOT. I have run from being a manager my whole life and I intend to continue on that path. Still, we have to play their silly games, so I'll be making something up, I guess.
